Materials and Tools for Making Ted Lasso Pink Boxes

Cardstock – An 8 1/2-inch x 11-inch sheet will make one box

Pencil

Ruler

Scissors

Paper scorer or Bone Folder

Small round flat bottom object (2 inches in diameter)

Instructions

1) Cut the paper and make folds along the outer edge

  • Cut your cardstock paper into a 9-inch x 6-inch rectangle.
  • Mark the edges of the sheet at 1 inch close to the corners, then use a paper scorer or a blunt knife to make a 1-inch fold all around the edges. Be careful not to cut through the paper.
  • When you open the folds, an invisible rectangle can be seen inside the sheet.

2) Make the first crease in the middle of the sheet

  • Turn the paper so that the longest edges are face top and bottom.
  • Fold the right short end inwards at the 1-inch fold, then fold over the opposite (unfolded) edge over the top of the right edge.
  • Press along the edge of the new fold, then unfold it to reveal a creased line in the middle of the sheet.

3) Make the second crease in the middle of the sheet

  • Open the fold on the right and close the fold on the left side, then turn the right side (unfolded) over to meet the left side.
  • Press down along the right side to make a new fold.
  • Open all the folds to reveal two creases 1 inch apart in the centre of the entire sheet.

4) Make the sides of the mini-box

  • Make four short 1-inch cuts along the creases on both long edges to make four flaps, two on either side.

  • Decide which side you’d like to be the top of the box, then mark off the two flaps 1 inch from the cut (as shown below).
  • Use a small circular object ( I use a tealight holder) and line it up from the mark you just made to the inner cut where it meets the fold.
  • Draw a 1/4 circle along the circular object to create a curved corner on both sides.
  • Cut along the curve and the 1-inch creased line on both sides and discard the small corner pieces. These cuts make the box look neater and easier to close when completed.

5) Assemble the mini box.

  • Dab a bit of glue on the outer side of the four flaps to make the bottom of the box. Then attach them to the adjacent flaps.
  • The box will come into shape very quickly once all the sides are glued together.
  • Place a 3-inch x 4-inch parchment sheet inside the box to make the bottom grease-proof.
  • Check that the box opens and closes easily.
  • These are the perfect size for my low-carb Ted Lasso Biscuits or small treats.
